The Licentia Arms Improved Counterweight Kit is a dual role counterweight system which functions as a night vision counterweight and secure PVS-31 battery pack holder. Constructed from laser cut laminate Cordura, the Improved Counterweight Kit is  low profile, has positive retention, offers cable management and has velcro for patches.

The advantage of a counterweight to the back end of a night vision helmet balances weight distribution and improves comfort for the user. While other counterweights are a single role system with lead weight, the Improved Counterweight Kit accepts a 10rd PMAG as the counterweight. In addition of running a 10rd PMAG, users of a PVS-31 battery pack can secure them to the helmet without the risk of losing an expensive battery pack. This method protects the battery while providing cable management.

The Improved Counterweight Kit is attached to the helmet by velcro and anchors that attach to the rear rail bolts of the helmet. By using high strength cord for retention, the counterweight kit is universal to all helmets and offers two forms of retention. Additionally the surrounding main compartment features 6 elastic loops to secure chemlights and cables.
